Melanie Eng Sound Designer

My name is Melanie Eng and I was born and raised in Richmond, B.C. In 2008, I went to The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and completed the part time Radio Broadcasting Course. I got a very good introduction and education about the radio and entertainment industry there.
Two years later, I attended Vancouver Film School’s “Sound Design For Visual Media” in May of 2010 and I graduated in April of 2011. During my intense year at VFS, I learned how to do everything in post-production for films, movies and video games. This includes editing BG’S, SFX’S and SPFX’S. I worked with Pro Tools LE, HD and Pro Tools 9 during the year. I got to spend time and work a lot with actors and actresses, recording ADR and voice overs which I really enjoyed.
In my spare time I like to write and compose my own music. I love to write poetry and lyrics as well. I record my own stuff on my MAC laptop using programs such as Garageband and Logic. I am very creative and I have a great imagination especially when it comes to sounds. I have many great ideas including visuals and sounds in my head. I am always very positive and motivated to get my work done and I love what I do!
